Breach of duty of care can result in actions for negligence. In this course you will learn what the elements of breach of duty are, what steps you should take when considering liability for negligence, and what other causes of action there may be concurrent with actions for professional negligence.

David M. Quick, QC
Visiting Associate Professor, School of Law, City University of Hong Kong

David Quick was admitted in South Australia in 1970. He then worked as a Barrister and Solicitor for a law firm until 1977, when he moved to the independent Bar and practised as a Barrister.

During that time he has held several legal appointments with the Australian Defence Force including Defence Force Magistrate and Judge Advocate.

He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1984.

In addition to the practise of Law, he has held teaching positions as Lecturer in the Department of Legal Education, HKU (1989/90) and at Adelaide University. Mr Quick is currently a Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong.
