Since value is a "speculative" concept, determined on the basis of what is assumed to be a perfect market, there will often be disagreements among concerned parties. In these cases, it is often the valuer who is looked upon to provide an unbiased valuation to the different parties involved.

This Course, Occasions and Issues in Valuation, deals with the concept of value and the situations where it is necessary. It consists of one Lesson on Value Concepts and Situations. This Lesson on Value Concepts and Situations consists of three Sections.

In the first Section, you will learn:
  • The definitions and general issues of value

  • The different perceptions of value

In the second Section, you will learn about valuation in:
  • Commercial purchases

  • Articles of Association

  • Shareholders’ Agreements

In the third Section, you will learn how valuation is used in:
  • Litigation

  • Other situations, such as divorce
